About Miss Sutherland
Hello! Welcome to Miss Sutherland's 6th Grade Social Studies website! This year will be my first year at River Trail Middle School, and I am really excited about all that is ahead for us. We have a lot going on in the curriculum for 6th grade Social Studies. My expectations for you will be high, but I know each of you is capable of rising to the challenge!
I ask that you come to class prepared and excited to learn! Social Studies is ONE of if not my favorite subject in school because there is always MORE to learn! Every place, time frame, and culture contains similarities and differences. Life is subject to change; however, nothing under the sun is new! History can repeat itself.... THEREFORE, we must try to learn the lessons of the past in order that we can take part of CREATING a BRIGHTER future!
